Real Good Shrew (review excerpt)
"Kimball’s robust performance
as Petruchio was as natural as it was well studied. In his own unabashed
manner, Kimball depicted a man whose spirit was as high as Kate’s,
though his wit was displayed like a happy-tempered humorist.

In his role as Petruchio, Kimball managed to convey
a sense of wisdom and true judgment in his ability to feign a passionate
and furious deportment — while his spirits were so calm that
he himself could have laughed in merriment at his own angry feigning.
And, in watching Kimball in his portrayal
of Petruchio, I really had a sense that he was truly in love with
Kate and wanted nothing more than to bring out her graciousness,
while keeping her commanding presence safely intact.
Throughout the performance, audiences
could be heard chuckling at the highly physical antics of Petruchio
and Kate. Kimball’s Petruchio possessed a natural temper that
was careless and easy. The boisterous airs he assumed when he became
the husband of Kate, managed to affect by his excellent discernment,
the only means to overcome Kate, in a way fighting fire with fire."
