What's New
On Film
I just shot a featured part in a documentary about BET, NPR and PBS host Tavis Smiley entitled Keeping the Faith: Tavis Smiley 15th Anniversary. The show follows Tavis' early political career challenges and his great successes as a politically-active host. I played a contentious Newsweek reporter in one of the recreation segments. No word as to when it will air as yet.

Border cautionI'm scheduled to star in a short film entitled The Fairless Gang, directed by Alex U. Garcia, in October. It's an Arrested Development-style comedy about a guy who, after years of trying to lead an honest life, gets roped into helping his brother and father pull off a big job. It's a fun script and I'm really looking forward to filming the project.

In addition, I'm going back to shoot some additional footage for the Xenophobia film. It tells the story of a family whose loved one was killed in an car accident with an illegal immigrant. In their grief, they take it upon themselves to patrol part of the US border with ultimately distressing results. I play "Uncle Denny," the gung-ho firearm enthusiast and racist.

On Stage
I recently completed lead roles in stage productions of both Black Comedy and The Real Inspector Hound. The experience was great fun -- fun characters and a wonderful cast & crew -- but the plays were pretty tiring as well.

It'd been about nine months since I'd done a stage play (How I Learned to Drive). That's quite a long time for me but, with my increasingly busy schedule, it's become difficult to commit the time to do stage work. I suspect it will be awhile before I do another play but you never know. I'm always a sucker when a good role comes around...

As always, you can check out my blog for the latest news that's "fit to print" (and probably some that isn't)!
